Product Description

Reefer container

General

The container is designed and manufactured for the carriage of refrigerated (frozen, chilled) foodstuffs (excluding hung‐chilled meat) and general cargo by land (on road or rail) and by sea (above or below deck) throughout the world with external temperature ranging from ‐40°C to +80°C without effect on the container strength and water‐tightness. A mechanical refrigeration unit of a “one piece picture frame type" will be fitted to the front end frame. The container is designed with a refrigeration unit to maintain the inside space temperature at ‐18°C in ambient temperature up to+38°C.

Standards, Regulations and Rules

Containers shall comply with following in their editions: 1) ISO/TC‐104 668 Dimensions and ratings (1995 edition) 1161
Specification of corner fittings (1990 edition) 1496/2 Specification and testing, thermal containers (1996 edition) 6346 Coding, identification and marking (the third edition 1995) 3874 Freight Containers, Handling and Securing (1997 edition) 2)TIR requirements and certificate. 3) Timber components treatment and certificates. There will be no exposed timber in the construction. 4) CSC requirement and certificates. In compliance with “International Convention for Safe Containers”. 5)Classification Society: All containers will be certified by . 6) UIC registration. 1.3 Handling The container will be constructed to be capable of being handled without any permanent deformation, which will render it unsuitable for use or any other abnormality during the following conditions: 1) Lifting, full or empty, at the top corner fittings vertically by means of spreaders fitted with hooks, shackles or twist locks. 2) Lifting, full or empty, at the bottom corner fittings using slings with appropriate terminal fittings at slings angle of forty‐five (45) degrees to horizontal. 3) Lifting, full or empty, at two fork pockets by fork lift truck.

Transportation

The container shall be constructed to be suitable for transportation for the following modes without any permanent deformation which will render the container unsuitable to use or any abnormality.
Marine - In the ship cell guides: Eight (8) high stacked (based on 32,500kg), on the deck: 4high stacked and secured by vertical diagonal lashings.
Road ‐On flat bed or skeleton chassis, secured by twistlocks or equivalent ones at the bottom corner fittings.
Rail ‐ On flat cars of special container cars secured by twistlocks or equivalent ones at the bottom corner fittings.

Guarantee.

The guarantee period will commence the date after the certification has been issued by the classification society.
Paint guarantee: The application of paint will be guaranteed against corrosion and paint failure for a period of five (5) years.
The guarantee is for faults affecting more than 10% of the painted surfaces and will assure partial or total re-painting of the
container. Corrosion caused by acids,alkalis or other chemicals,damage by abrasion,impact or accident are excluded.

Decal guarantee: The decals are warranted for seven (7) years to withstand the environmental conditions as “General” mentioned for
color,stability & adhesion.

Other guarantee: This will be guaranteed against fault in construction,poor workmanship and material for a period of three (3)
years. Any damages caused by mis-handing,mis-securing,mis-loading,impact and any accidents relating from bad practices are
excluded.

Reefer unit: The reefer unit warranted for one (1) year by reefer unit company.
